JUNE 9 2006 - JESUS CHRIST (c.6 BC - c.30 AD)

"JUDGE NOT, THAT YOU BE NOT JUDGED. FOR WITH THE JUDGEMENT YOU PRONOUNCE YOU WILL BE JUDGED, AND THE MEASURE YOU GIVE WILL BE THE MEASURE YOU GET.
"WHY DO YOU SEE THE SPECK THAT IS IN YOUR BROTHER'S EYE, BUT DO NOT NOTICE THE LOG THAT IS IN YOUR OWN EYE ? OR HOW CAN YOU SAY TO YOUR BROTHER, 'LET ME TAKE THE SPECK OUT OF YOUR EYE', WHEN THERE IS THE LOG IN YOUR OWN EYE ?
"YOU HYPOCRITE, FIRST TAKE THE LOG OUT OF YOUR OWN EYE, AND THEN YOU WILL SEE CLEARLY TO TAKE THE SPECK OUT OF YOUR BROTHER'S EYE."

(Source : The Bible - St Matthew Chapter 7 vs 1-5)

Comments:
I actually prefer the remix version - "judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned:forgive and ye shall be forgiven: give and it shall be given unto you: good measure, pressed down and shaken together, shall men give unto your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured unto you again."
(Luke 7, 37-38)

The only passage of the bible I can quote from memory - although I remember it slightly different from that... Must have been a different version of the bible I read from at school because it said "pressed down and running over" rather than "shaken together".

I always remember this when I see christian fundamentalists on TV busily judging and condemning everything from teenage mums to Jerry Springer the opera.
